The Cambodian border lies some 80km south of Surin, and we chose the border town of O Smach. It’s a small village, with offers nothing but the immigration and custom offices, and two casinos, where dozens of Thai come in every day. They cross the border for just the day, spend and lose their money, then go home and drink what’s left.
An elegant gentleman comes forward and offers to help us through the crossing procedure, which takes about an hour, but after getting the last stamp on our passport, he of course asked for money. Sorry pal, I gave my last Thai baths at the immigration. Find somebody else to scam, I’ve already paid my visa ten dollars more than I should, as the immigration officer refused we paid 20USD and asked for 1000THB, which equals to 50USD for the both of us. Bastard!

James Bond said it before, never say never. As told you earlier I wouldn’t be back in the Southern Hemisphere for quite some time, well, things have changed… I’ll be back for Christmas.
So, WTF I hear you say ? Well, there is no other word for it, I’m broke. I’ve got about a grand or two left, to finish the year, then all bank accounts will be drained, to the last penny. I need to work. So I gave it a lot of thought, along with Claire, and we came up with the same answer: back to Australia.
