Well I expected I’d find a job pretty quickly. But I had forgotten that there was Xsmas, then after there was New Year’s Day, then after there was Australia Day, and then it was school holiday. This meant that pretty much from mid-December until early February, Australia was hungover. I did manage to squeeze a couple of interviews but nothing really promising. Just head hunters who were happy to add me into their databases, and to keep busy in January while we all waited for the market to wake up from its lethargic state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
And then one day, I got a call from a head hunter<\/a>. She had found my resume somewhere, I think I had sent it or maybe she found it on various websites. But she called me, super excited, with a position in mind, and oh my god oh my god oh my god we HAVTA meet. This was on Thursday, just before Australia Day Long Week End. She was super busy but we had a quick chat over the phone, and we agreed she’d send over my resume to the potential employer even though we had not met, yet. The next Wednesday, we met, she mentioned a few times I was awesome oh my god oh my god oh my god they’re GONNA LOVE YA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The next Tuesday, I did meet the business owner and his partner, for a long interview. The next day, last Wednesday, I met their head of IT department who quizzed me for an hour on various IT matters, and on Thursday, two days ago, I got the job. So I guess the head hunter was right, they did love me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In 2008, I moved to Australia on February 09th, got an interview on the 21st the head hunter in Melbourne, on the 22nd with Unison Solutions, and the job the next week, on March 06th. This time, I moved back to Australia on December 06th, got the interview on January 30th, and got the job on February 07th. Damn, I didn’t break my personal record \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n
