No more green, this is now dry yellow and red dust on the way to the Eyre Peninsula.
It\u2019s only a short drive as I desperately want to swim in the ocean, I stop here and there in the very few towns I drive through, one is advertising a \u201cmonster ute\u201d show which I never found, and the next has drag races which weren\u2019t on yet\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
So I arrive at 3PM at my destination for the night, just off Port Lincoln. The campsite is dodgy as, with loud bogans for neighbours, blasting their music and making sure everyone hears their ute, or the kid\u2019s dirt-bike\u2026 but it has a big bonus : for five dollars, there is beach access, which I can drive on, and a shower. How cool is that ! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sunbathing for a couple of hours, with a few pelicans for company, then it\u2019s time for a shower, then a much deserved beer after this dusty drive, then dinner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The flies drive me absolutely off the wall. They come in, by the dozen, in your mouth, your nose, your ear, on your face, it\u2019s just crazy. I\u2019ve got to wait for the sun to come down to eat otherwise I\u2019ll have flies for dinner. And it will only get worse as I head north…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Note for the non-Australians : what is a Bogan ? Well, they usually are loud, wear flanel shirt, don’t talk but scream at each other, especially the kids, or the dog. They like being seen and heard, so the more noise the better. It can be fixing an engine without exhaust, blasting the stereo, or calling the TV a “f**ing referee”.
