Bloody hard to park in this city, I copped a fine last night, five minutes overdue and BAM, 60 bux ! F**ing parking. So I just moved the car to St Kilda (Herbert Street, no less, aah the memories&#8230;) and went back to CBD by tram. Good, except I forgot to bring my sleeping bag&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anyhow, today I bought the SPOT messenger, a HUBB sticker and a car stereo off eBay.  Should be here within days.  Tomorrow I&#8217;ll get the Garmin GPS from Dick Smith and then on Thursday, off to SCS to finish the plumbing on the tank, and fit all this neat electronics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last steps will be the tires, when I get back from Sydney.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But fark me this car is big, easy to drive but you gotta be mindful of its weight (way over three tons with all gear onboard) and its height (about 2.6M so no way it fits in any underground car park).  I pulled over at a cheap petrol station (141\/L instead of the usual 145) and filled up.  220litres&#8230;over 300bux.  Yeah baby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Oh well at least I won&#8217;t have to fill up every week&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And, shit, I can&#8217;t wait to be on the road.  I still have to get the CPD (Carnet de Passage en Douane) from the AAA, but it costs two grand.
